I grew up in New Hampshire and went to college in Boston. From there I moved to Los Angeles and worked in TV and Film Production. Taking a unique turn I moved on to tour the US and England as the bass player in a punk rock band signed to a major record label. Years later I discovered an interest in interior design and determined a career change was in order. I spent the next 10 years in LA designing homes all over the USA and in 2016 I moved to Portland to launch my own design firm.
My focus is residential and light commercial design. Many of my projects involve renovation, including down-to-the-studs overhauls and new builds. Since moving to Portland I’ve expanded my portfolio to include commissions to design a restaurant, two local retail stores, offices for a global sportswear brand, a healthcare practice and residential designs for executives at Nike, Intel, Columbia Sportswear and more.
Recent press has included features in: Architectural Digest, Better Homes & Gardens, Coastal Living, Domino, Dwell, Gray Magazine’s “Design Rebels” issue, House Beautiful, Lonny, Luxe, MyDomaine, Oregon Home, Rue, and the Wall Street Journal. I was invited to give a talk at Sunset Magazine’s annual celebration weekend in Sonoma, CA, spoke on the "Best of the West” panel at Las Vegas Market, and lectured at Design Within Reach during their designer days series. Recently I’ve been hired to style the marketing campaigns for a home goods brand, heritage textile company, vintage furniture store, home accessories label, as well as editorial shoots for various shelter and lifestyle publications. I just designed and launched my first custom fabric line which is now available by-the-yard.
I’m a low-key interior designer with full service capabilities and a focus on creating interesting and unpretentious spaces that reflect the people that live and work in them. My style is a lived-in, layered look and I think every room should show signs of life. I believe style is about knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.
My first collection of custom fabric-by-the-yard is screen printed in the USA on 10oz utilitarian “duck cloth” cotton canvas. Inspired by flora, fauna, tattoos, rock and roll and Americana. Email me for pricing, samples, and to place orders.
